The importance of having a goal

What do you want to be when you grow up?

You have surely heard this question many times. It Is the usual question we ask our youngsters, with the aim of helping them to focus on a goal that will guide them to structure their studies and their life plans.

But, what about us? what do we want to be now, that we’ve grown up?

Many people reach adulthood without even knowing what they really want. If you ask around: What would you really like to do? many people will answer something similar to “I don’t know” . Interestingly, if you ask these people if they are happy with what they do, the will probably answer something like: ” Well, this is life.”

Our ability to adapt also involves adapting to the situations that life brings without questioning whether it is what we desire. I’m not saying that adaptability is bad, on the contrary. But the conformism and passivity ends up producing a feeling of apathy in people without a clear goal, and this is not going to bring us much happiness.

What can we do?

The first thing, could be to taking some time to think about what it is you really like. What you really want to do in your life.
Each day, you can take a few minutes to see if what you do in your daily routine is really a source of satisfaction and inspiration to you.
And if ti’s not, you can start thinking about how you would like to see yourself in the future. That will be your goal.

Having a purpose in life serves us as a compass. The goal will help us direct our actions. With a clear objective, you will know what you need to remove from your daily life and where to focus your energy.

When you choose your goal make sure it really is “your goal “. Sometimes the information we get is just so intense that be decide on our future plans based purely on economic reasons or trends.

But what really motivates you?

When desire is linked to action the effect is intensified. So, when your goal truly   motivates you, the chances of success will be increased.

It is really important that you enjoy what you do and that you do what you think is right. We are all different.  What is right for you may not be right for others.

What is really important is to choose what makes sense for you. It is very important that what we feel , say and do is in harmony.

Then we’ll are ready to star designing a plan to achieve or goal.
